Summary

Ashland Park/Robbins Elementary School in Omaha, NE, is a mid-sized school serving 708 students from Pre-K through 5th grade as part of the Omaha Public Schools district.

Academically, the school’s performance is a mixed picture. While its English Language Arts (ELA) and Math scores are generally on par with the district average, they remain significantly below the state average. A notable bright spot is 5th Grade Science, where 81.82% of students were proficient in 2023-2024, nearly matching the state average. However, the school’s overall state ranking has declined to the 4th percentile, its lowest point in recent years. When compared to nearby schools, Ashland Park/Robbins outperforms Indian Hill Elementary (30.35% ELA proficiency) and Highland Elementary (31.25% ELA proficiency), but is dramatically outperformed by Wilson Focus School (70.5% ELA proficiency), a magnet school just 0.77 miles away. The school also spends more per student ($17,712) than higher-performing nearby schools like Seymour Elementary in the Ralston Public Schools district, which spends $12,696 per student but achieves significantly higher test scores.

A critical challenge is chronic absenteeism, which, while improving from a high of 38.6% to 23.7%, remains higher than the state average and nearby schools like Pawnee Elementary (20.1%) and Jefferson Elementary (18.0%). The school shows relative strength with English Language Learners (ELL) and Hispanic students, but there has been a dramatic decline in support for Special Education students, who fell from the 53rd percentile statewide in 2017-2018 to the 0th percentile in 2022-2023. This is a critical area for parents to investigate further.
