Open Quote I am 2014 graduate of the school. While it was no Willow Creek, Mayo was only slightly less painful! The students, underclassmen in particular, are incredibly cliquey and treat those with mild learning differences or anyone outside of their circle, for that matter, as drastically inferior. Aside from a few great teachers/staff, many are incredibly unsympathetic to ones situation, and are thus, insistent on their one-track mind. And the special ed department in particular, (with a couple exceptions) is incredibly HORRIBLE, as they only seemingly care about is gaining extra money from the state, even if it means remedializing the student by shoving elementary school-level work down their throat, so to speak. Bottom line, if you had an absolutely horrendous time at Willow Creek, do NOT attend Mayo, not even for a day. Instead, do some research on what high schools, even if they are in the Twin Cities, would best cater to the student's needs hence emphasize the arts/creativity. Close Quote
