Summary

High Point Elementary is a public elementary school in Pasadena, Maryland, serving 684 students in grades PK-5 as part of the Anne Arundel County Public Schools district.

High Point Elementary faces significant challenges, including consistently high chronic absenteeism rates, lower-than-average test scores in both Mathematics and English Language Arts across all grade levels, and a high percentage of students eligible for free and reduced-price lunch. The school's spending per student has increased over the years but remains lower than some nearby schools. While High Point Elementary has a relatively low student-teacher ratio, its performance generally lags behind nearby schools like Lake Shore Elementary and Pasadena Elementary, which are also part of the Anne Arundel County Public Schools district.

The school's statewide ranking has declined over the years, and its ability to support the diverse needs of its student population, particularly the White and low-socioeconomic status students, should be a priority. Addressing the underlying issues and implementing targeted interventions will be crucial for improving student outcomes at High Point Elementary.

Open Quote I have two children attending High Point. School is what the parents make it for their children no matter what school the child attends. I have really liked my children's teachers. My children need to be pushed a bit to challenge themselves and the teachers caught on to that quickly. The principal is very visible in the school and he is quick to resolve any problems.
