Open Quote This school is horrible, the teachers are very unprofessional , the principal has no clue on how to run a school or discipline. He does not help with behavior issues and walks around all day in his suit ,he is more concerned about what he looks like than running a school. It is very sad how Celerity worries more about what is on the teachers wall rather than what is being taught. The teachers have to fly through state standards for a ridiculous benchmark test that has no merit to the student, teacher or state! The teachers are humiliated with low test scores on a huge screen for everyone to see when they get no help for these struggling students. Teacher left last year about eighty percent of them and the ones that returned have either left or are miserable there. The principal worries more about ridiculous things instead of staff members that should not be working around children, period! This school is horrible they do not care for the well being of students. They drive the good teachers away and keep the fresh out of college teachers with no experience to teach these struggling students. Close Quote

Open Quote There is absolutely no consistency of leadership at this school. It has been moving on a regular basis, the MLK address is wrong. In the last two years there have been THREE principals. The CEO of the school just abruptly installed the third. This was done with no consideration to the students who were in the middle of SAT 10 testing. The parents were not informed of the "extensive search" that was being conducted for a new principal. Parents weren't informed until after "first choice" applications for the regular public schools were accepted, effectively limiting the parents choices for schools the following year. The CEO solicited e-mails from the parents in the letter she sent home the day she surprised everyone with a brand new principal. She has chosen not to reply to the one I sent her. In all this school in plagued with inconsistency. It may look good the day you go to check it out but it changes constantly on the whim of a CEO who lives in another state and only acts like she is available to parents. BEWARE! Close Quote

Open Quote Just remember that when picking a school you should really look at the whole picture. This school had changed locations 3 times since opening. There teacher retention rate is low, although I was told it was 100%. I personally asked parent with kids there and most of the teacher with the exception a about 5 have turned over since the start of the school year. They are more than happy to take students with IEP's and 504 needs, becuase they get more money. You are the parent so be ready to stand up for kid and make sure you are getting everything from them that is outline in your accomadations. This school is getting ready to move again and with moving and growing comes growing pains, just be prepared to endure them. Close Quote

Open Quote The comunication between parents and teachers is great. They are very helpful and always available to talk about everything with you. I look around and finally I hit the jackpot. My son loves it and he is doing great, even with his ADHD. He is in the honor roll and is a little sponge. As a parent, I do not have any regrets to have my son right there!! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
