Summary

Imagine School At Town Center is a public charter elementary and middle school located in Palm Coast, Florida, serving 856 students from kindergarten through 8th grade. The school is part of the Flagler District, which is ranked 21 out of 67 districts in Florida and has a 4-star rating from SchoolDigger.

While the school has a relatively high spending per student, ranging from $7,643 in 2021-2022 to $8,646 in 2023-2024, its academic performance has been a concern. Imagine School At Town Center's test scores are generally below the Flagler District and Florida state averages across various subjects and grade levels. For example, in 2024-2025, the school's proficiency rates in English Language Arts and Math are lower than the district and state in most grades. Additionally, the school has a consistently high chronic absenteeism rate, ranging from 27.3% to 31.6% over the past few years, which is significantly higher than the state and district averages.

When compared to other public elementary schools in the Flagler District and the nearby Volusia District, Imagine School At Town Center generally performs worse on test scores and has a higher chronic absenteeism rate. For example, Tomoka Elementary School and Pine Trail Elementary School, both in the Volusia District, have significantly higher proficiency rates in English Language Arts and Math compared to Imagine School At Town Center. However, the school's strong performance in Civics and Algebra 1 End-of-Course exams, where its proficiency rates have consistently exceeded the Flagler District and Florida state averages, suggests that it may be able to leverage its strengths in certain subject areas to improve overall academic outcomes.

Open Quote Two of my children been with Imagine for 4 years. Teachers changing all the time, like 2, 3 teacher in the year. Even front desk ladys, cannt keep on counting how many left. I guess nobody wants to stay here. Buses always broken. Horrible, my children is not staying at Imagine anymore. Close Quote

Open Quote I can't say enough about how great it is at Imagine. We have been there for six years now. My daughter started in Pre-K and she loves her school. I enjoy being able to actively volunteer and partner with her teachers. They are also a national school of character, which really says something. They look at teaching the whole child and not just to a test. We couldn't be happier! Close Quote

Open Quote I have a niece and nephew who attend and they love it! The children wear a uniform, kakhi pants/capri/skort/skirt/shorts and navy shirts Pk-5 and red shirts 6-8 with the shool emblem on the shirt. They are able to wear a "Imagine Spirit" t-shirt on the first Friday of the month. So much easier getting them off to school in the AM. There is an "expectation of following directions and being respectful" through out the school. Since the school has been open, they have had specific "Character" emphasis, with each month the students learning about a specific character trait, and how that reflects on the student, school, and community. What a good program. The pk-k students learn about the "bucket principle" are you a dipper always taking things and using them or are you a giver by adding things and sharing. Interesting way to teach, but well received. There is daily communication from your childs teacher through the "planner" and parents must sign the planner to prove that they read it. The principal and other administrators know most every child by name--great, will see if that can continue since the school almost doubled in size this year. When the kids are in the community and have a school shirt on, and meet someone else with a school shirt in, they acknowledge each other and on most occasions, the parents will greet each other as well. It's nice, there is also an emphasis on manners. Academically the teachers, think outside the box, for activities in all subject areas and there is a very large emphasis on reading. The school offers the opportunity to students in 3-8 to participate in the Advanced Reading Challenge Program where they must read 25 books by mid-APril from the approved list. The books on the approved list are done by grade and many are award-winning books. The students who accomplished the goal last year were awarded a $100 savings bond. This school chooses to follow the public shool system calendar, another positive (as the private schools in town have their own calendar). Close Quote
