Open Quote D’Evelyn is an excellent liberal arts 7 - 12 school! I have three kids who attend and as with all families with multiple kids, each of my kids are very different from the other, but each of them found their people and are thriving at D’Eveyn. Each of kids perform differently academically but love the challenge of the liberal arts program. The sports programs and performing arts program are top notch! The administrators and teachers are incredibly intelligent and caring! I am so thankful my oldest got in by lottery and now all my kids will be well prepared for college! Love this school! Open Quote As a parent, I researched for the best possible Jr/Sr High School for my kids and I unequivocally found it in D'Evelyn. While their test scores are unbelievable (top ACT/SAT for 18 years running in CO), what is more impressive is their curriculum. They believe all students can succeed in their Liberal Arts curriculum and the staff gives the students what they need to do so (students must, of course, be willing to do the work). In today's educational world where our students are guinea pigs for every new fad, D'Evelyn has stayed true to its philosophy for 25 years. They teach the students knowledge and allow the students to come to their own conclusions, avoiding the normal political bias of today.

The staff is carefully selected for those who truly believe in what they are doing at the school and they are required to have expertise in their subject (i.e. Chemistry teachers actually have Chemistry degrees). Because of these policies, they have the best staff I have seen and the students are reaping the benefits. Additionally, because all staff are committed to the philosophy of the school, all are rowing in the same direction, allowing the school to continue to improve in any way that is necessary.

There is not a school in the area that I would have rather sent my kids to. Enrollment is based on computerized lottery (no testing) and the best chance to get in is in their first year of middle school (though they do enroll through 9th grad when spots become available). The Jr - Sr High platform also makes it so kids do not have to go through an additional transition during their hardest years. The Sr. High students act as mentors for the middle schoolers, which is also a large benefit. Hopefully, you will get the golden ticket like our family did! Close Quote

Open Quote D'Evelyn cannot be beat in preparing children academically for college, career, and life. Understand that it isn't for every child--if your child cannot perform at or above grade level they will suffer emotionally trying to keep up. Additionally, the school lacks intellectual diversity for that reason. It is an excellent home for the students whose families can support the rigor. It is small enough for kids to compete athletically, and they are fiercely competitive in all they do. The staff is top-notch, top to bottom. Close Quote

Open Quote D'Evelyn has a spectacular Liberal Arts program. While public, the curriculum is all their own and you get in by random lottery. We love the 7th - 12th grade platform, making it so our kids didn't have to switch from schools again. The program is rigorous and the kids are held to a high standard. They read the classics and practice math nightly. They are NOT indoctrinated politically like at many schools today. The curriculum is what sets it apart and with a great staff, they have achieved #1 status on the ACT or SAT for 18 years running (as long as the stats have been used in CO. The peer pressure is positive and it is cool to do well in school. We have 3 kids there and wouldn't trade it for the world! 98 of the kids go to college and the grads we know all say the transition to college was simple for them compared to their peers from other schools, as they were ready. Open Quote D'Evelyn is very definitely a school of excellence. My daughter attended D'Evelyn from grade 7-12 and, while she wasn't the best student, she was better than average and graduated with 12 college credits and a great foundation of learning that will help her through life. Due to the solid Liberal Arts foundation received at D'Evelyn, she excelled in college, graduating with a double major and a minor and proceeded to attend graduate school. She was most happy to have received such an excellent education at D'Evelyn and was amazed herself at how easy it was to ease into college after having learned the study discipline and everything else that helped in her transition. I certainly give all the credit to the incredibly well-educated and fabulous teachers who strive to make the children at D'Evelyn be the prototype for good citizenship and to acquire a love for learning and high standards in education. D'Evelyn is the best school ever and my daughter and I are very happy she was a part of a group of well-educated children who have gone to achieve great things after attending such a wonderful school.
