Summary

The School of Extended Educational Options (SEEO) is a large, K-12 public alternative school in the Pomona Unified district, serving over 1,200 students who may benefit from a non-traditional educational setting.

While SEEO's test scores are below state averages, it performs competitively within its own district, with math scores notably higher than the Pomona Unified average. Its most significant strength is student attendance; with a chronic absenteeism rate of only 8.7%, it far outperforms both the district and state, as well as nearby alternative schools like Inland Empire Springs Charter and Opportunities for Learning - Duarte, which have much higher rates. The school has also shown recent, positive trends in improving graduation rates.

SEEO operates on a much larger scale than comparable schools, which allows it to function efficiently with lower per-student spending than alternatives such as Vista (Alternative) in the Bonita Unified district. This scale does mean a higher student-to-teacher ratio. Overall, SEEO represents a distinctive model that achieves strong attendance engagement and reasonable academic outcomes for its student population within the resources available.
