Summary

Fox Creek Junior High School is a public middle school in Bullhead City, Arizona, serving grades 5-8 with a total enrollment of 465 students. Unfortunately, the school has consistently ranked in the bottom half of Arizona middle schools over the past several years, currently ranking 550 out of 552 middle schools in the state for the 2024-2025 school year.

The school faces significant challenges, with students performing well below state and district averages in standardized test scores across all grade levels and subject areas. For example, in the 2024-2025 school year, only 13% of 8th-grade students were proficient or better in science, compared to the state average of 30%. The school also has relatively high dropout rates, ranging from 5.2% to 7.0% over the past few years. Additionally, the school's per-student spending has decreased from $5,622 in 2018-2019 to $5,264 in 2021-2022, which is lower than the district average.

Interestingly, the nearby Bullhead City Middle School, which is also part of the Bullhead City School District, performs slightly better than Fox Creek Junior High School in terms of academic achievement and other key metrics. However, both schools are still underperforming compared to the state averages, suggesting that the district as a whole may need to implement targeted interventions and support to improve educational outcomes for its students.

Open Quote The principal is a renegade racist who runs the school like a prison. He runs the school through fear, and there is a constant constricted, walk the line feel to the place. He is a former cop(and loves to brag about it), and holds parent meetings with a badge hung on his wall. I always felt uncomfortable in his office. If you are low income or not Caucasian your kids will be put in lower level classes, with incompetent teachers, usually one and done teachers. The large majority of the staff roster turns over every year. That is a HUGE red flag. Nobody stays at the school. Those who do stay, and have been at the school awhile are absolute wing nuts. There is nothing nice or charming about their quirkiness. They are eccentric in a Norman Bates, Cannibal Lecter kind of way. If you
decide to send your kids to fox creek, welcome to Crazy Town, AZ. I feel so sorry for you and your kids. Close Quote
