Open Quote This is a young school that has lot of concerns from a parent standpoint. First the communication is a joke. Information gets sent home a day or two before the event if you are lucky. They did something for grandparents day and sent out a notice on Monday for a Tuesday event, but the paper they sent home actually said Wednesday. My parents made arrangements to go on Wednesday too bad it was a day late. As a parent you miss lots of awards assemblies or events due to the lack of communication. This is across the board not just teacher to parent but from principal to parents as well. My child had a leappad taken away from him by the principal in December no note was sent home to me asking for a meeting or letting me know it was taken. I happen to help my son clean his room saw the case and asked where it was and he told me the principal had it. I didn't find out until late April.

The cirriculumn is quite sad as well. My child spent the first 6 months of school helping get all the other kids in his class caught up and on the same level as he was. He had a ridiculous amount of free time since he completed assignments in class very quickly and early. He was not challenged at all, there is no honors or an alternative cirriculumn for children if they excel in a specific area. Never received the testing scores even after the principal promised I would get them.

The school constantly is asking for donations from parents for school supplies I spent over a 1000.00 through out the year on donating supplies. The beginning of the year list only last about two months and then I started getting request for more stuff. And don't forget the endless amount of fundraisers. It seemed everytime you finished a fundraiser you would be sent home another one. There were no parent meetings about the fundraisers your child would just come home with a packet to sell items, no information or very vague information.

the sad thing is there are some great teachers and great administration people there unfortunately the culture that is in place make this a bad experience. I am thankful I was able to get into a new school for next year. Close Quote

Open Quote This school used to be such a wonderful place for your kids. Now there is new owners everything has changed for the worse. The principal and the vice principal don't even take the time to talk to the parents. The vice principal walks around with his head down all day. The lady that works in the front office doesn't even know who works at the school. I got a letter from a teacher and called to speak to the teacher whose name was written on the bottom of the letter and young girl in the front office said "Ah I don't think we have anyone who works here by that name" I said really well I have a letter here that says different. She placed me on hold for 5 min then I was transferred to that teacher. The food they serve here is outdated and disgusting. The staff here is so unhappy. There are very few teachers that are there from when my kids started. The teachers that this new admin got rid off were amazing. I will be pulling my kids from this school. And one other thing, the fingerprint clearance card is a joke. I come and go from this school and no one knows me and they do not ask me who I am. So they say you need one but they are full of crap. Shame on the new administrators of this school for the lack of concern for the kids and the staff. I have tried to have open communication however these people do not call you back. This years Christmas show was a joke, the music teacher thought it was her show, what a joke. Please whatever you do, don't send your kids to Heritage. Close Quote
