Summary

H I Holland Elementary At Lisbon is a PK-5 elementary school in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, TX, serving 361 students as part of the Dallas Independent School District (Isd).

This school stands out for its exceptional support for Special Education students, ranking in the 96th percentile statewide for this group in the 2023-2024 school year—a remarkable achievement that contrasts with its overall performance. The school has also shown a dramatic recent rebound, jumping from a 4th percentile ranking in 2024-2025 to the 33rd percentile in 2025-2026, the most significant single-year improvement among nearby schools like Thomas L Marsalis Elementary Steam Academy and Harry Stone Montessori Academy, which have maintained steady, higher performance. Additionally, the school’s Spanish-language STAAR Reading scores (50% proficient in 3rd grade) significantly outperform its English-language Reading scores (37.9% proficient), suggesting a strong bilingual program, while 4th Grade Mathematics achieved a 58% proficiency rate, exceeding both district and state averages.

Despite these strengths, the school faces challenges, including persistent weakness in 5th-grade Science, where only 8.82% of students were proficient in 2024-2025, far below district and state levels. The school serves a population with extremely high economic need (over 98% qualifying for free or reduced lunch), which contrasts with nearby magnet schools like Harry Stone Montessori Academy (79% economically disadvantaged). With a favorable student-teacher ratio of 12.4:1 and moderate per-student spending ($13,154), the school’s recent rebound suggests that strategic changes may be driving improvement, making it a school to watch for continued progress.

Open Quote this is a great school to put your little ones in. The teachers really help the kids learn things. My child been attending this school of the past years. The only thing they don't do that much is go on field trips in fact my child have never been on one yet. Close Quote
