Open Quote We are leaving Fair School after realizing the 7th grade has a widespread game of students being touched in areas of their body without consent. Our daughter has this happen at least weekly to her. Immediately after finding out about this, we demanded an investigation. The police officer at the school determined that several students independently identified several male students who did this to them, and so far the staff is doing nothing. The police can pursue criminal prosecution only if the girls can give details of a specific incident. There are video cameras at the school that go back 30 days. Why the school can't pursue these perpetrators? I don't know. But I'm going to the school board tomorrow. Fair school administration is un-organized, and don't communicate to parents when there are problems. Close Quote

Open Quote This isn't the same school we started out with. We have been very disappointed with the leadership and unwillingness to address bullying. Close Quote

Open Quote My oldest boy is in 9th grade now. To say he loved FAIR would be an understatement. As a 4th - 8th grade school, he spent five years at FAIR. Taking algebra in 8th grade, (now he is in Honors Geometry) as a 9th grader, Honors English, Honors Civics, Science, etc. Last year, all 8th graders were provided a FREE Mac Laptop computer which was used in class, for homework and the teachers went through a 40 hour class to integrate it into curriculum. It was a big plus going into HS with this exposure.

Only about 100 students per grade in the tough middle school years was also very very nice. A small school in the heart of the metro.

The quality of the students and parents is excellent. When you have to apply to go to a school, you get more parental involvement.

Arts infusion exposes them to Dance in 4th and 5th, Media Arts, Visual, but they still have gym and now offer Spanish.

9 year old building - great environment. Always in the lead state wide in middle school math and reading stats. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
