Open Quote I transfered both of my daughters to Xavier School for the 2012-13 school year. Things went well with grades and my oldest daughter did have behavioral issues that were improving and I was very happy about that. Unfortunately at the start of the 2013-14 school year there was an incident with my oldest daughter that spread like wildfire through the 6-8th grades and she began getting harassed and picked on on a daily basis. It was brought to the attention of the Dean of students numerous times, but she did nothing about it. My daughter would get blamed for these incidents, told that other students blamed her for them when in fact it was the other way around. She came home everyday upset and begging me to take her back to her old school. My daughter was told by many faculty members, including the Dean of students, that she needs to tell the truth or no one would believe her. She was telling the truth but, no one believed her. She finally just started telling the adults what they wanted to hear. When I asked her why she would do that she told me because they didn't believe her anyway. So as far as curriculum, they're a pretty decent school, but as far as protecting the students from being bullied by others while attending their school look else where, because the adults of the school are as bad of offenders as the students. Open Quote My son has just recently transfered to Xavier from another chartered school and is finally liking school and doing excellent. I think it has been the best thing for him! His first progress report was all "A"s and two "B"s. I am so glad we made this move!In second grade no child should hate school the way he did. Now on the weekends he can't wait to go back on Monday!! Thank you Xavier! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
