Open Quote Our experience was so HORRIBLE that I decided to STOP sending my child to this school even though I was obligated to continue PAYING the FULL tuition, which I did. This school does not uphold their stated values, Faith, Community, Justice, and Respect. Speaking with President Sister Buffy about our entire experience, it was overt, she had absolutely no sympathy.

Bullying and racism was a massive problem for us. One of the children was continuously aggressive. The teacher spoke with the child, yet there was little improvement.

The teachers were not very approachable. Spanish instructor
was horrible and did not foster any¹ kind of respect or kindness. Music instructor consistently teased my child about their name.

This school was dishonest in regards to COVID testing and protocols. For class field trips parents were not permitted to join regardless of vaccine status. Prior to enrolling our child, I inquired if parents were permitted and I was told by THREE staff members that parents were permitted. My family applied for assistance and no one ever returned our calls. Close Quote

Open Quote I attended Loretto Academy from 1st through 8th grade ending in 1995. When I look back at my experience with Loretto, I am incredibly irate that my parents wasted so much hard earned money on an education that was not up to par. I still have flashbacks of the teachers in middle school and how inappropriate their behavior was towards students as well as their lack of education and experience. They were angry and verbally abusive. They did not hide their disdain for their young adult students. In 7th grade Texas History, my teacher actually had the audacity to talk about how masturbation was a terrible sin with much punishment in the afterlife. Why not talk about the Mexican American Revolution? How very inappropriate. And I remember having several nap times in 5th grade because our teacher did not like teaching. And it took me a while to love and cherish my female friends later in life. I was so horrified by how the girls mistreated each other so terribly, that it took me a while to trust women. Upon entering a public high school starting my freshman year, I was so far behind compared to all of the other students that attended a public middle school. I have a BS in Health Science and I am successful, but I fear this would not have been the case had I stayed at Loretto Academy. So unless you want your kid lacking an education and experiencing biased religious views, save your money for college or retirement. Close Quote
