Summary

Eagle Ridge Elementary is a PK-4 school in Keller, TX, serving 499 students within the Keller Independent School District (Isd), a district that ranks in the top 77th percentile statewide.

Eagle Ridge has historically been a solid, above-average school, but its most recent data shows a notable dip to a 3-star rating, ranking in the 69th percentile—its lowest in nearly a decade. This decline contrasts with nearby schools like Willis Lane Elementary (98th percentile) and Bette Perot Elementary (89th percentile), which are maintaining or improving their rankings. However, Eagle Ridge is not an outlier; it is clustered with several similar-performing schools in the area, such as Lone Star Elementary (77th percentile) and Freedom Elementary (68th percentile), forming a "middle tier" of schools that perform above the state average but below the elite tier.

The most striking differentiator for Eagle Ridge is its exceptional performance with Gifted and Talented (GT) students, ranking in the 98th percentile for this subgroup. However, the school shows a dramatic split in math performance: 4th graders are struggling significantly, with only 39.76% proficient, well below the district average. Additionally, the school is inconsistent in serving its Special Education and Low Socio-Economic Status students, ranking in the 40th and 46th percentiles respectively. This suggests that while Eagle Ridge has a strong foundation and excels with its highest-achieving students, it needs to refocus its strategies to ensure equitable growth for all students.

Open Quote This is an amazing school! I am shocked to see the other review but I was only a parent at ERE for 1 year under the old principal that is referred to. The new principal (and VP) is FANTASTIC - very involved and truly cares about the students and the teachers. It is such a positive, loving environment and my kids have thrived. We have had wonderful experiences with teachers (out of 9 teachers between 2 of my kids, only 1 wasn’t as great - not terrible - just not great, the others have been amazing) and love all of the office staff. Everyone is kind and upbeat. The community is very involved. We moved here specifically to go to ERE and have been very pleased. I’m sad my son is in his last year there and wish he could stay! Open Quote When Eagle Ridge first opened in 2007, the original principal was wonderful and the school was likewise. The entire staff was warm and friendly, and the education was top notch. Unfortunately, in 2010, the original principal left and was replaced by Ms. S. Ms. S is cold and unfriendly, and has turned the entire school that way. Ms. S usually has a scowl on her face during morning drop-off, has been overhead complaining about having to stay for after school events, and has generally intimidated her teachers and staff into submission. She has turned a wonderful school into a terrible one. At least in the Bluffs, most parents have entered their children into the Westlake Academy lottery, in an attempt to get them out of ERE, Things are so bad that last year's PTA president got some of her children into Westlake and pulled another child out of ERE to home school! Until KISD makes a change, and if you have a choice, you need to seriously consider living in the ERE school district. Your better alternatives are Lone Star or Bette Perot Elementary, both of which are great schools. Close Quote
