Summary

Inspired Vision Academy Secondary is a small charter school in Dallas, TX, serving 558 students in grades 7-12 in the Pleasant Grove area, where nearly all students (99.46%) qualify for free or reduced lunch, making it one of the most economically disadvantaged schools in the region.

The school’s most striking feature is its exceptional graduation rate of 95.9% (2023-2024), which far exceeds nearby traditional public schools like W W Samuell High School (73.1%) and H Grady Spruce High School (77.3%), and even rivals Mesquite High School (96.0%). This is paired with an extremely low dropout rate of 0.5%, the lowest among comparable area schools. However, this success in keeping students on track to graduate contrasts sharply with low STAAR proficiency scores—only 8.94% of students are proficient in Algebra I, and the school ranks in the bottom 15th percentile statewide. A bright spot is U.S. History, where 64.94% of students are proficient, just 5 points below the state average. The school also spends $11,217 per student, higher than most nearby traditional schools, yet academic outcomes lag behind charters like Uplift Luna Prep High School.

Recent trends show a slight upward trajectory after a decade of stagnation, with improvements in 7th and 8th-grade Reading and Math scores from 2023-2024 to 2025-2026. Yet, the school struggles with its highest-achieving students—the Gifted and Talented subgroup ranks in the 2nd percentile—and has seen a dramatic decline in Special Education performance, dropping from the 47th to the 7th percentile. Compared to its nearest neighbor, W W Samuell High School, which serves a similar high-poverty population, Inspired Vision Academy offers a more supportive environment that keeps students in school, even if test scores are slightly lower. This suggests a focus on persistence and stability over academic rigor, making it a strong choice for families prioritizing graduation and low dropout rates.

Open Quote This school is incredible. I almost don't want to share this info, because this is one of the best kept secrets in Pleasant Grove. If you don't like DISD, this is the place for you. Smaller classroom sizes than most, and a maximum school occupancy that does not exceed 400. What more could you ask for in Dallas?
Quality teachers, and state funding means the more the staff cares, the better funding the staff receives from the state. What a great insinitive that, a middle class citizen like myself who has to go to work everyday and pay for my own healthcare, can get free breakfast and lunch for my kids. Two things to say here. If you can't beat em, join em, and IT'S ABOUT TIME!!! Teachers are super-nice!!! Close Quote
