Summary

Early College Academy is a high-performing public high school in Albuquerque, New Mexico, serving 221 students in grades 9-12. This school consistently ranks among the top 10 high schools in the state, with exceptional student performance that far exceeds the state and district averages.

Early College Academy has maintained a 5-star rating from SchoolDigger for the past 10 years, placing it in the top tier of high schools in New Mexico. Its students demonstrate remarkable academic achievement, with 76.79% of 11th-graders proficient or better in science, compared to just 41.69% statewide, and 56.6% proficient in math, compared to 12.22% statewide. The school also boasts consistently high 4-year graduation rates, ranging from 69.9% to 99.7% over the past few years, well above the state and Albuquerque district averages.

Despite serving a significant population of low-socioeconomic status students, Early College Academy is able to maintain exceptional academic performance, ranking among the top schools in the state for this subgroup. This success is particularly noteworthy given the school's proximity to several lower-performing charter schools, such as Abq Charter Academy and Siembra Leadership High School. The contrast in educational outcomes within the same Albuquerque district highlights the potential for Early College Academy's model and practices to be replicated at other schools to improve student success.

Open Quote Incredibly outstanding high school! I was extremely shocked to see ECA is not the number one school in N.M. because it truly is. The academic curriculum is like no other in the state. It has an amazing course offer and the teachers are truly MAGNIFICENT. "This is the place where all teachers want to work. It's like going to Harvard," said one 9th grade English teacher. The teachers there are the best in APS; graduates from the best universities in the nation, including Harvard. If you're a parent, please consider ECA for your student. Give it call and schedule a meeting, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. As a student, I could have not made a better choice into going to ECA. It has definitely been one of the best choices of my life. I would rate it 10 out of 5 stars! Close Quote
