Field Community

It's actually called Field Middle School, but partners with our sister school, Hale Elementary. Field is a very strong middle school both academically and in extra curricular activities (specifically, STEM, GEMS, music and athletics) Located in the heart of South Minneapolis, Field succeeds because of strong teaching teams and the strong partnership between parents, teachers, principal and staff. We collaborate to support our kids both academically and socially, so every child is equipped with the knowledge and tools to succeed moving forward into high school and college. Because state funding has been cut for several years, this tight knit community has pulled together to seek out grants, fund raise and donate their own time/money/resources to important programs. Field has a strong PTA and strong parent community who together to support our programs, teachers, and kids. It's a wonderful school.

Field teachers care about all children, and adapt to individual needs. All students are exposed to high level curriculum. Students learn to value other's opinions through group circle discussions. Children challenge each other, and teachers add additional challenges as needed. My child continues to exceed standards and make more than a year's growth, within a diverse setting, and has let go of that "I'm better than others" mentality. This feels like a healthy environment for kids to learn.
