Doyle High School has achieved remarkable academic success, earning a 5-star rating and ranking 22nd out of 325 high schools statewide in the 2025-2026 school year—a dramatic leap from its 63rd-place ranking the previous year. What makes this achievement particularly impressive is that over 62% of Doyle's students qualify for free or reduced lunch, yet the school ranks 17th out of 321 schools statewide (95th percentile) for its economically disadvantaged students. This outperforms nearby schools like Prairieville High School and Live Oak High School, which serve populations with lower percentages of low-income students. Additionally, the school ranks 19th out of 311 schools statewide for male students, showing particular strength in engaging boys academically.

While Doyle's academic trajectory is impressive, there are areas to watch. The school's chronic absenteeism rate has fluctuated, dropping to 6.6% in 2023-2024 before rising to 14.9% in 2024-2025—still below the state average of 24.6%. The graduation rate dipped to 87.4% in 2023-2024 but rebounded to 93.2% in 2024-2025, matching the district average. In middle school grades, 7th-grade Math proficiency (61%) and Social Studies proficiency (57%) lag behind district averages, suggesting room for improvement. Overall, Doyle High School stands out as a school achieving top-tier results with a student body facing greater economic challenges than many of its peers, making it a compelling option for families in the Livingston area.

Open Quote Doyle High School refuses to bend to the state's desires to put the district first instead of the student. DHS puts the students' best interests before anything else. As a student at DHS, you know that the principal and the faculty will be there for you. If the school will lose points by placing you in a program, but the program is what's best for you, they will sacrifice those points to make sure the student is successful. State stats and numbers mean nothing when it comes to individual student success, especially when each student defines "success" in different ways. Close Quote
