Open Quote My child went to this school all 6 years. The first 4 years went well. Until the principal left and they put 2 women as vice principal/principal. I am all for women being in authoritative roles. However, the 2 women heading up this school are bullies and show favouritism. They show favouritism towards different teachers and students. This really disrupts the entire faculty. My child was bullied bullied 5 months out of the 7 months during the 6th grade year. I blame not only the teacher but the principal and vice principal. My child was verbally and physically assaulted on a regular basis. They informed me the beginning of the school year tha this was happening and it was addressed. However, it picked right back up after the kids came back from Christmas break. My child was too ashamed and embarrassed to tell me. It went on for 5 consecutive months. These 2 children in particular, would punch my child in the stomach in the halls, during class change, and outside. Not a single teacher put a stop to it. Where are the teachers during these free times????He was verbally assualted in class relentlessly and children were telling my child to kill theirself. The effects of this incident has still affected our family since leaving the school. I believe bullying starts at the top. There is too much cattiness amongst this faculty to where prominent issues are being swept under the rug. Until, the administration changes I would be weary of placing your child there. My child is an unbelievably sweet person. After this was addressed, a few of the teachers reached out and apologized because they really adored my child. The vice principal wasn't at all sincere and too worried her job would be in jeopardy to act on any sincerity. Oh and I maybe received one smile from the secretary in the front office for 6 long years.Believe me, I'm not the only parent that dreaded going into the front office. First impressions speak volumes. Beware! Close Quote

Open Quote The negative reviews are no joke. I have seen such bad behavior from children at this school that would make your toes curl (and a lot of it). If you want your child to learn in a healthy and positive environment, GET OUT! If you live in the WES district, please consider Cherokee Charter instead. Close Quote

Open Quote I have had two children attend WES. My oldest is currently a Junior at Woodstock High School. When he was at WES, I absolutely loved the school. He attended from 2nd through 5th grade. So when my next little one came along, I was excited for him to attend WES as well. He is now in 2nd grade and has been there since kindergarten. There is a new administration and things are not at all the same. Communication is non-existent. There seems to be no investment in the kids. I had an incident with my child that I brought up and was told by the principal "we have 1100 kids and we can't watch them all." Seriously. The After School Program is horrible...from not letting him use the restroom (I picked him up one day and he was sitting in his own urine) to the ASP teachers constantly yelling at all the kids. When I brought this up, the principal told me "ASP isn't for everyone". No one cares. The website isn't updated with new information. I have seen the office staff watching TV during school hours (when I went to have lunch). It's just not the same school it was years ago, and this is extremely sad. Close Quote

Open Quote My two older boys went to private catholic school which was great, but I can't tell you how happy we are with our youngest son going to WES, it's extremely well run by educators that really care. Our son is not even done with kindergarden and he's reading 1st-2nd grade level. We love their curriculum and the teachers! Close Quote
