Math scores are consistently strong across all grades, with 85%, 77%, and 83% proficiency in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades, respectively. This consistency is a sign of a well-aligned curriculum, especially compared to nearby Dunedin Elementary, where 4th-grade math drops sharply. The school also offers strong value, spending $13,789 per student, which is less than struggling schools like San Jose Elementary ($19,771) but achieving better results.

Garrison-Jones is a reliable, high-performing choice in a market with elite schools like Curtis Fundamental Elementary and Elisa Nelson Elementary on one end and lower-performing options like Athenian Academy on the other. Its chronic absenteeism rate (19.7%) is better than the district average but higher than top-tier neighbors, suggesting room for growth. Overall, this school offers a stable, improving education with a proven track record of academic gains, making it a smart option for families seeking a balanced, upward-trending school without the intense competition for admission.

Open Quote It says a lot about a school that allows boys to hit little girls and are not disciplined for it. No wonder boys think it's ok for them to hit girls they are taught that there are no consequences for their actions and it's no wonder girls think this kid of behavior is ok. Good thing I let my daughter know that if it happens again she needs to stick up for herself because the school principal sure isn't doing anything to protect her students. Close Quote
