Open Quote I went to school there in the early 90s and the experience was horrible. My home life was abusive and it caused me to act out but instead of just sending a social worker to check things out, they labeled me as insane and I was pulled out. Close Quote

Open Quote This school overloads its teachers with clerical work, does not provide teachers with a planning period, and does not hire substitute teachers when teachers are absent. When teachers are absent, their classes are split between other teachers in that grade. Many of the students have behavior issues such as fighting, bullying, and stealing. The specials time (art and PE) is used for make-up tests and meetings/trainings for the teachers and often combine students doing make-up work during teacher meetings. The school behavior management system consists of a color code system, whereas they should be using a system such as CHAMPS. The teachers are overworked and expected to (volunteer)to teach an extra hour of reading intervention to help the students succeed. However, this time is disrupted by snack time, sweets or a salty treat is served. The students do not have a recess, and except of specials/PE are in their seats from 8:15 AM until the end of the extra hour school day. This is bar none, the worst run school in OCPS, and does not deserve a single star, but the rules of this website demands one star. This school is not just poor, it is horrible. Close Quote
