Summary

Archimedean Middle Conservatory in Miami, FL, is a small, high-performing public middle school serving 328 students in grades 6-8 within the Miami-Dade district, consistently ranking in the top 1-2% of all middle schools in Florida.

This school stands out for its exceptional academic results across the board. For example, 100% of students are proficient in Civics, a perfect score unmatched by nearby schools like Glades Middle School (77% proficiency). Math performance is equally impressive, with 99% of 6th graders proficient—32 points above the district average and the highest in the area. The school also excels in advanced coursework, with near-perfect scores in Algebra 1 and Geometry, indicating many students are taking high school-level classes early. Despite a significant demographic shift—free or reduced lunch eligibility jumping from 3% to nearly 40% in just two years—academic performance has not only held steady but improved, showcasing the effectiveness of its instructional model.

Beyond test scores, Archimedean Middle Conservatory fosters a highly engaged student body, reflected in a chronic absenteeism rate of just 9%, dramatically lower than the district average of 28.2% and every nearby school. Its small size likely contributes to this tight-knit community and individualized attention. The school also operates efficiently, spending $12,001 per student—less than many peers like Riviera Middle School ($16,225)—while producing superior results. Compared to other top charter schools like Somerset Academy Bay Middle School, Archimedean serves a more diverse socioeconomic population yet still outperforms in nearly every subject, making it a standout model of educational excellence in the Miami-Dade area.

Open Quote This is my son's 2nd year and I can honestly say it has been the best move we've made. My son's ex- elementary special program basically gave up on him and labeled him lazy not preparing him on the basics such as reading and math. This wonderful group of educators have cared enough about my son and have helped him embrace education and believe in himself again! I will be forever grateful and honestly appreciate this school's strict approach to education. I find the teachers to be selfless and caring enough to come in on their own time on Saturday's before the FCAT and tutor these students for Free. This truly is an amazing school we consider home! Open Quote I am taking time to unite all voices, who have experience lack of due process; lack of good faith effort, disrespectful; arrogant and humiliating comments whether from teachers or middle school principal. We experienced all of these elements and by asking and receiving feedback from other concerned parents, we have come to realized that our case is not alone, that there are many cases just like ours, we are interested in uniting the voices. We know that there are many out there that due to lack of time and/or language barrier, fear of retaliation from school officials toward their kids, fear of losing their jobs (school teachers) or simply because they have felt that their voice alone will not be enough, have simply not made their issue public. Please write to us and let us know what you experienced. We have many rumors and we want to make sure that we can corroborate these rumors, to then address the school district officials. We want to place the power of the internet to make our voices heard. We believe the school founders have a true interest in having these issues corrected but they need to hear from all of you. Thank you Close Quote
