Open Quote Ghetto...is the first word that comes to mind when I think of Stranahan High School. I did not know the term "ratchedness" before I came to Stranahan and saw what it really meant. You cannot blame the students for being uncivilized, unclean, and disrespectful, because it is in their blood. If their parents are like that, meaning the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, but when I see teachers and the whole administration acting the same as the students, it is truly embarrassing because a teacher should be a professional. The teachers could care less about your education. They only care about the money that cannot take care of them. They are rude and disrespectful. I cannot even state how wrong this school is. this school is very unhealthy, the janitors are not doing their jobs at all. I come to class and its like a tornado pass there. I understand that students can be messy... The immature ones...but if you were hired to do a job, you should do it with no complaining and if that's not the job that you desire, find another one. I HONESTLY CANNOT FIGURE OUT HOW DOES THIS SCHOOL PASS HEALTH CHECKS.THIS SCHOOL HAS MAJOR LANDSCAPING ISSUES. THE STATE OR BROWARD COUNTY NEED TO DONATE MONEY TO FIX THE SCHOOL, BECAUSE IT IS IN POOR CONDITION. When a friend ask me "what school do you go to?" I have to hesitate because I am so embarrassed of my school. The only thing Im proud of is the Medical magnet program because I know it will get me somewhere and we have field trips in hospitals that are really amazing. They only choose the best students fit for the field trip. The worse year of the medical magnet program would the freshman year, because we have the absolute worse teacher ever. She spends three months on the same topic and every day "study.. we're going to have a test" and that test never happened. She is so unorganized. To avoid teaching, she makes up a stupid bellringer( that should have been planned before we came into class) and spends the entire 55 minutes checking attendance and we end up learning nothing. She cannot teach at all in my opinion and probably every other student who has her. I am not giving false statement because I hate the school. I love Stranahan, but it would be nice if we improve.
THANK YOU SO MUCH

Open Quote Stranahan has excellent teachers and staff. The magnet programs are outstanding with professor quality instructors. These teachers are dedicated putting in many extra hours providing students with any and all learning opportunities. I am thrilled my son is in the Engineering Magnet program. He has had opportunities not afforded at other high schools, such as programming, robotics, pneumatics etc. I can not wait for my younger son to enter the pre-med program 2011/2012. Close Quote
