Open Quote Absolutely Unsafe. Our son was jumped as he walked out of the cafeteria by a bully with a history of sneaking up on kids and hitting them. My wife went to pick up our son to take him to the doctor only to leave the principal's office and see a young student whose head had been rammed into a pole...right outside the office doors! As students laughed and teachers looked on without helping, a police officer already there for another crime had to take charge of this event. The principal didn't show for nearly 15 minutes. This young girl remained unresponsive even as she was placed in an ambulance. My wife already amazed at the disregard given to our son (he was not seen for his injuries for over an hour), but with the handling of this young girl's plight disenrolled our son from this school immediately.

With the closure and combination of middle schools in the Bay County area, this school quickly doubled in size to over 1,100 students for the 2009-2010 year. The staff are completely overwhelmed and lack any control over the large student population. Taken a step further, unfortunately, the principal is equally overwhelmed choosing to take a "its not our fault...this is what kids do" stance to the many crimes and acts of bullying committed daily. She is probably a good principal for an elementary school, but a middle school with crime like this is beyond her capabilities.

Avoid this school at all costs. It is a matter of time before it makes national headlines for a traumatic event. The environment is that of a violent movie. Close Quote
