As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Great community, any immersion school (the MPS system has 4!) offers a wonderful benefit for your child, we are so lucky to have this option. Many other places offer this model across the country, usually at the cost of $20-30,000 a year. We love our school. Close Quote

Open Quote This is a fabulous school! My 3 children who attended have excelled in middle and high school. One is now in college and is excelling in German studies there. My own children never had trouble managing their homework. The students who had trouble were most often the ones who did not use their time wisely in school.

I was saddened to read the "one star" review written in November. I have friends who send their children to the school currently, and they are very happy with it. The school is wonderful because it has high standards.

I couldn't help but notice the poor spelling and grammar errors of the writer of the November review. I would hope that parent would hold higher standards for her own children. Close Quote

Open Quote German Immersion send home crazy amounts of homework each night not to mention the number of projects that need to be done on the weekend. There is no balance with this school when it comes to homework. The kids come home after being in school all day only to have another 2-3 hours worth of homework. Six or more sheets, plus the math work from the text books. Tell me this isn't rediculous. My other children are in Fairview Charter and are acheiving just as good of state testing if not better and only have at the most 2 sheets of homework. German Immersion is stressing my son out because of the excessive homework and we are looking to get him out of this pethetic school. If they'd only cut the homework by more than half, then it might be worth it. That's just Terrible!!!! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
