As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Our family moved from out of state two years ago. We specifically chose the home we now live in because it was near to the schools we wanted our four children to grow up in. My only regret is that we did not move early so that my two high school children could have had their elementary education and experience at Cathcart Elementary School. The teachers at Cathcart are highly educated and filled with a passion to teach. The support staff of the school is second to none. Led by their new principal, Cathcart is on the road of great success. It is wonderful to have our children learn about math, reading, science, literature, art, etc. at school. Cathcart takes things a step further and endeavors to teach its students the importance of community, of helping others, of respecting self and those around them. It is a joy to have children at Cathcart. The many parent volunteers who support the teachers and school activities help add to the refreshing spirit of Cathcart Elementary School. Close Quote

Open Quote We moved here almost 2 years ago and absolutely love the school and the community. The teachers are very friendly and have really helped my daughter become a much better reader. The office staff is really friendly and helpful also! Close Quote

Open Quote This school isn't perfect, no schools are. This school has heart, very involved families, tight knit community and great teachers/staff. With the new principal starting the 2013 school year, Cathcart will excel more than it has in a long time. This school has a rich history. The aging building isn't really an issue and seems to have less problems than some of the newer schools in our district. I have had kids in Cathcart for a long time and will have kids there for a long time to come. I love this school. Close Quote

Open Quote The facility is a shambles. They should be ashamed for letting an elementary school get in this condition. Can i give this school a 1/2 star? Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
