As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote This is a terrible school.
The principal doesn't seem AT ALL interested in the stresses and concerns we have as parents. She is rude and does not listen to our needs. Her office staff is about the same except one. They easily release your children without checking I.D. And force your children to play at recess even if he or she is not interested and cold out. They have no respect for diversity, and are quick to assume the worst in you as parents when your children have reasonable excuses as to why they cannot attend school. The staff openly gossips about the children and parents'. I have walked in on them doing so. My children are not white and they are treated so. Tired of the rude , unprofessional atmosphere that the children are in. The School is in poor condition along with their educational programs and plans for our children. They say the dont encourage bullying but bully our children for being different skin color and treat them as if they were the problem. Overall a stinky attitude and we are all tired of it. If we were in a better place financially, we would not force our children to continue attending such a place. Close Quote

Open Quote This is not a safe school and it is getting worse! The principal encourages citizens to visit classrooms for parties, etc. without being screened as possible felons, or petifiles. Adults are not screened and are often found on campus without being processed through the office. Part of the problem, I believe, is the layout of the campus and many unlocked doors from the outside, the lack of security and the poor leadership skills of the Principal and the Superintendent. The morale of the staff, at Shoultes and many schools in the district, is very low. I believe this is due to the poor leadership skills of the Superintendent. The entire upper administration of the district are very hostile with a negative attitude. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
