Skyline is a great school and these boards are silly. All of the schools on the Eastside are very good schools and all you have to do is look at the home prices within school boundaries and watch what open land tracts developers fight to get annexed into certain boundaries. The price of a home goes up dramatically when you cross the line from Eastlake to Skyline or Issaquah to Skyline. Why do you ask, because Skyline is a great school and people are moving into the district to send their kids there. Just look at the beautiful homes in the Aldara neighborhood of Sammamish. They would be easily $150,000 to $200,000 if within the Skyline boundary but they are in the Mt. Si boundary which is a good school but viewed a little differently by many home buyers with high school students or soon to be high school students.

There are kids of all types at Skyline and the academics are fantastic. Not all kids are "rich" but all kids who want a great education and apply themselves in school will be rewarded with a fantastic learning environment and a school with a lot of school spirit. However, if not into the school spirit there are many other clubs such a robotics and other educational programs so there is something for everyone. Great faculty and the front office is a pleasure to deal with.

Couldn't think of a better high school but acknowledge we likely would have enjoyed Eastlake or Issaquah. Close Quote

This is not a bad HS. Bad reviews posted by students do not reflect any of the good aspects of this school. It is true that Skyline has many students who are extremely wealthy. And many of them drive cars that I can only dream of. But that does not mean the education process is bad. On the contrary the IB program is extremely vigorous and students who graduate from it are well prepared for college and generally do well. Socially the school is full of snobs but you do not go to school just to play sports or socialize.

In comparison the school is rated below Eastlake HS but I have known students who have attended both and they have all told me that Skyline by far much rigorous academically. Also Skyline in 2016 had 18 National Merit semi-finalist while Eastlake had four and the local Eastside Catholic school had one. Close Quote
