Open Quote REVISED2
I'm not surprised that this school's ranking has dropped from the #1 elementary school in Hanover to #3. The current administration (principal) and some of the teachers should spent less time labeling, refusing to teach and trying their hardest to set certain kids up to fail starting from day 1. I appreciate websites that like this one that highlight the achievement gaps at these "fully accredited schools" and ranks them based on the achievement of every student, not just the majority. I also find it amazing how some of the top-ranked elementary schools in VA have nearly 50 percent low income students, yet they are excelling academically. It just goes to prove that ALL students (including subgroups) can learn if people give them a chance and stop stereotyping them. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio
Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
