As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Providence is a great school! The teachers are very dedicated and enthusiastic. My daughter, who is in seventh grade, has done well academically and on the SOL tests. She loves school and has made great friends. The administration fosters an environment of respect and encourages athletic and club participation along with student leadership. Close Quote

Open Quote I have enjoyed working with Providence Middle School. My daughter attended 6th grade and is now in 7th grade. She enjoys her classes and teachers. The principal is upbeat and always positive. I think he has a terrific attitude and you can tell he really cares about his students as well as his staff. Thanks for all the after school events and informative evenings. As a parent, it makes it much easier for me to get to know the school and staff that my daughter spend her days with. Thank you!!! Open Quote Kids who need extra help to understand and learn are not receiving the help they need! Most of the teachers (not all) really do not care. This is the worst school I have ever had to deal with. Close Quote

Open Quote Do not send your kids here! They do not care about the kids. They will not help them and they will not help you. This goes for the whole administration not just the teachers. They will fail your child even after you have tried to make sure all work gets done. You email them and they do not give you the correct information. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
