As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote If you are considering Clover Hill Math/Sci in Chesterfield, think long and hard. The sales pitch for this school is impressive. The administrators throw out words and phrases like "world class" education and "magnet school for high ability learners" and "Students, parents, families and colleges have taken notice and they like our product." BEWARE. Our child attended Math/Sci had a 4.2 GPA, 99%tile ACT, 93%tile SAT, APs, dual enrollments, captain of this, president of that, no disciplinary record, community service every other weekend and on and on and on. Outright rejected at Virginia Tech Engineering (not MIT, Stanford, Yale or Harvard mind you but Virginia Tech) because they said our child had too many B's. Notably, one of the things Math/Sci administrators tell you at the sales pitch is that your child should EXPECT B's because this is Math/Sci, not regular high school. Our child’s friends who didn't want to go to math/sci because of the workload and took "honors" classes at their feeder schools got in to VT Engineering. The Math/Sci website has a link to "College Acceptances" and every top school in the country is listed (Princeton University was mentioned several times during our sales pitch). Problem is only a handful of Math/Sci kids over the last 4 years have actually been admitted to these schools . Do not take the bait. Do your research. Talk to the PARENTS of graduates, not the kids currently there. We did a tremendous disservice to our child tremendously by allowing our child to attend Math/Sci. Don't make the same mistake. Open Quote Our experience with Clover Hill High School and it's feeder schools has been excellent. The art department, in particular, was a high point for my child. Though every school has it's faculty that is not as effective or well-liked our experiences with the faculty here were all extremely positive. Close Quote

Open Quote i am a student at clover hill high school and there is a lot wrong at this school. As you know this school is a math science school all the math/sci. kids are passing and the normal average students are failing and there is a lot of favoritism in the school. i find students that kiss up to the teachers get away with a lot more than everyone else. Open Quote This school values academic, music, and physical excellence in its students. It has been a blue ribbon school multiple times in the past decade and sends kids to top rate universities on a yearly basis. Furthermore, it offers a Specialization program that uses specialized teachers to get kids thinking on a higher, collegiate level. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
