As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I cannot wait to move out if Jarrell, mainly to remove my child from Jarrell Middle School. The bulling is overrated, the teachers are burnt out by the students regardless on how much effort they put trying to hide it behind emails it unfolds. If your child is a bully this school is perfect for them! They can go around picking on all the students and God forbid the other student fights back EVEN after informing staff they will be punished as well. Just like mass punishment. All they care about is their numbers for funding. They will over look Covid-19 circumstances, threaten the parent with court if the student does not make up the time. The irony is how the nurse instructs for the student to stay home for fourteen days then uses the "we have no record" as a defense mechanism in order to push for make up time. I have only come across three staff members that actually care the rest are a waste! So good luck if you enroll your children at Jarrell Middles School it won't be long until your child comes home complaining or you get an email from the unprofessional staff members. Close Quote

Open Quote This school suffers from poor top down leadership. I got along splendidly with the elementary and intermediate school but here I feel like I am having to constantly defend my children from the school itself, it is exhausting. The rating for this district as a whole has literally plummeted since we moved here about 5 years ago and this school leads the pack. The stats speak for themselves. We are seriously considering leaving. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
