Open Quote I don't want to rate this school by giving them starts. I want to rate the so call PTA for subscribing to a "cookie dough" fundraiser. Where are your heads PTA members or others with this ridiculous idea? How do you expect anyone in this neighborhood to pay $16.00 for cookies? Even taking the sign-up sheets to work is a laugh. People at Kelly and Lackland have not been paid. There are people who cannot even afford to pay their electric bill this month much less look to purchase $16 cookies. You are ridiculous for bringing this type of fundraiser to the table. If you need to raise funds for whatever the gov't is not already providing your school, have a brisket cookout or something similar, but $16 cookies is just plain irresponsible. Especially enticing the kids to sell, sell, sell for the promise of a cheap toy. The other school fundraiser of $2 per little chocolate bar is much more doable, but am sure it does not bring the big profit the $16 cookies may bring. Promoting the top seller will receive a one pound chocolate bar is pathetic. As if the kids need more sugar in their diets. Just start them all on insulin right now, why don't you. All such fundraisers should be illegal. I am a grandparent. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
