As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote We moved to The Woodlands, from another Houston suburb, mostly due to the reputation of the schools here. My daughter is in Kindergarten and has had a very positive experience. Her teacher communicates with the parents via e-mail nearly every other day and responds quickly when I have a question. Her teacher provided all of the parents access to a neat online web site for e-books. When my daughter gets home she immediately wants me to log into the web site for her to read. It firsts reads a story to her and then she will read the story to me. It's awesome. They do hands-on science quite a bit, which is impressive. She talks about wearing goggles and the activities they did that day. They also get to play on the playground and/or have gym everyday, which I think is extremely important for the children. They have music and art as well.

I have heard the others teachers are just as great as the teacher my daughter has, which is wonderful to hear that we will have many years to come of a positive learning environment. I have noticed the kids at her school seem to be sweet and well mannered. When I drop her off in the morning, the 6th grade helpers always say hi to me with a smile and tell me to have a good day. Earlier in the school year, they would walk her to her class until she became comfortable with finding her classroom. The parents and the teachers have both done an amazing job with all of the children.

I'm so glad that our decision to move here has been worth what we went through to get here. Where we lived before, the houses sold at a loss, but here the houses sell for asking price. So, we lost some money to come here, but it has been worth it and we are enjoying The Woodlands. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
