As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote a lot of people say that this is a bad school, well its not. It depends who your children have as friends. If they hang out with the bad kids, they are more likely to make bad choices, but if they talk to 'good kids' or focus more on their education, they will do better. I have had encounters with the teachers, and they try their best to help the kids, sometimes if the student does poorly it's because they don't pay attention, it's not the teacher's fault entirely. And every or just about all middle schools have a dress code, it's not just cause of how the students are. Close Quote

Open Quote Your beating your head against the wall, attempting to change this 'broken' school system. . .current ranking #1790, out of 1890 . . .which is shameful and inexcusable.

While some teachers are 'devoted' to your child's education, most are only interested in State test scores, passing problems on to the next grade level, and baby sitting your child . . .(the exception . . .the band program . . .which is acceptable) . . . if your seeking good grades . . .lots of 'in-class' study time . . .'time filling' in-class cartoons . . .a future 'guaranteed' BHS high school diploma . . . with no 'education' . . .then this is the place for you . . .otherwise look for another school. (remember your child will soon be attending the academically unacceptable Burnet High school . . .ask yourself, Where were those BHS kids educated? answ. BMS) . . . I want my son 'out-of-house', off to college by 18, supporting himself by 25! Close Quote

Open Quote Well unfortunately the majority of the students here have very little mannerism. This has nothing to do with the school in general. I moved because I didnt want my son to go to school here, but with the Elementary for my younger children being the school of my choice; I did move back to this area. He has done a wonderful job. Yes some of his friends have made bad choices, foul mouths, and just seem like they dont care about their education this doesnt mean he shall act like this. It starts with the parents. These are children, their parents need to be held accountable somewhat for their mannerism. I have had bad encounters with the school in the past but my son did very well and I am allowing him to stay his 8th grade year. And to wish this school would close down due to not meeting standard is being very double standard. How about lets wish Parents would start being parents instead of blaming the school! THis is definitely not the worst school. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
