As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Do not be fooled by ranking. This is terrible school. The second grade teacher told first grade knowledge. Staff and principal are not good to kid when kid has problem with their teacher. Nightmare. Close Quote

Open Quote School does very good on rankings and that is a big draw. But like a lot of parents, there are second thoughts. The teaching and curriculum is targeted towards high test scores and gaming the system and not towards challenging academics or enhancing education for kids. As someone said earlier, people are transferring kids to private schools 40 minutes away in Dallas.
There is little incremental learning with the entire focus on improving test scores. Also the student/ teacher ratio is one of the worse in the district. Close Quote

Open Quote We heard lots of good things about Evans and it turned out to be a nice school but standard of education is barely average. We moved here from Barksdale Elementary and both our kids were bored to death in Evans. We had to move them to a private school. Many of our neighbors had similar complaints. One rented out their home and they are moving to Rice/Jasper area because they didn't like below par academics here.

Enrollment is increasing rapidly thanks. To new apartment buildings and subdivisions. High school is already overpopulated. I wish district had their focus on education. Close Quote

Open Quote This is a quaint new neighborhood school, with very involved parents, and experienced teachers. The school was designed to be within walking distance of most of its students, so it is centrally located. Parents and children are both very happy with this school and intentionally live within its boundary lines. Top rated by statistics, but even more importantly, by parents. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
