As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Before my son entered kindergarten, I had heard so many wonderful things about this school being the best. However, since he has started attending, I have been greatly disappointed. Greatly disappointed.
The office staff here is rude and unattentive. They do not pay attention to who enters and leaves the building and their check in/check out system is lacking at best and neglegent at worst. They make no efforts to know the parents and when they do address you, are rude. They love to brag about the fact that the school is in a "safe" neighborhood. That is fine and good but, no neighborhood is too safe to implement attentive check-in/check-out procedures. Plus, an inattentive staff (I mean, they don't even look up as you are signing in, even if you come in in the middle of the day. You have to get their attention to even say hello,) makes for a very cold and rude feeling overall.
The drop-off/pick-up method here is unorganized and, once again, overseen by rude teachers who actually have bad tempers. Not the best way to start your child's day and definitely not offering a welcoming or safe environment.
The curriculum is dull and lacking diversity in teaching techniques. They say that this is because of Common Core standards. However, I have several friends whose chidren attend other PA public schools and who follow Common Core standards and, yet, their children are learning using a variety of techniques and in a way that is comprehensive and fun (utilizing tactile, auditory, and visual learning techniques.)
The administrative staff portrays an arrogant and even snobby attitude of "We know more than you and you are so stupid". I believe this attitude starts with the principal but, it trickles down through everything and permeates the entire school.
If this public school is the "best", then this country's public school system is even worse off than I thought. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
