As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Pitiful school. The students are horrible, half the teachers don't care about their students, the building is filthy. The only way you could POSSIBLY succeed at this school is to be in the 'advanced' classes. The students in those classes are the only ones who aren't getting handed 2nd grade work, and actually CARE about succeeding on their own later on in life. Close Quote

Open Quote I am writing this as a proud graduate of William Allen High School. I am a graduate of the class of 58.
I happened to drive by the school today and was very surprised to not see the US flag flying at half staff, in respect for the death of Dr. Jack McHugh.
His obituary made the front page of the Morning Call! Don't you think his having been a principal of the high school and an active community leader deserved recognition? I do, it is not too late, he could still be honored for the remainder of this week.

Open Quote The opportunities at Allen are amazing!! There are more electives, sports, and activities at Allen than any other school in the area - including Parkland. There are also more Honors, AP, and Gifted courses available. Every year Allen has students that go on to the very best colleges and universities, including the ivy league. Sometimes Allen gets a bad reputation, but it is undeserved. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
