Edison Elementary School is a public elementary school in Eugene, Oregon, serving 348 students in grades K-5. The school is part of the Eugene School District 4J, which is ranked 20 out of 140 districts in the state and has a 4-star rating.

Edison Elementary consistently ranks among the top 15% of elementary schools in Oregon, with students performing significantly better than the district and state averages in English Language Arts and Mathematics across all grade levels. For example, in 2024-2025, 66.7% of 3rd graders, 52.2% of 4th graders, and 65% of 5th graders were proficient or better in ELA, compared to the district averages of 44.5%, 46.8%, and 53.7%, respectively. The school's 5th-grade students also outperformed the district and state in Science, with 45% proficient or better. However, Edison Elementary has experienced relatively high chronic absenteeism rates, ranging from 24.4% to 38.7% over the past few years, which is higher than the district and state averages.

Compared to nearby schools, Holt Elementary, Cesar Chavez Elementary, and Family School have lower proficiency rates in ELA and Mathematics, while Charlemagne French Immersion Elementary, located just 1.5 miles away, consistently outperforms Edison Elementary, ranking among the top 2% of Oregon elementary schools. Edison Elementary's spending per student ($20,274 in 2022-2023) is also higher than the district average, which may be due to the school's higher percentage of low-socioeconomic status students and the additional resources required to support their needs.

Open Quote ITS more of a time pass for parents than a school where students study.Anytime of the day parents are seen talking or just for fun in school inturrupting school and class work.Teachers strongly play favourite to students whose parents either volunteer or help in fundraising. As they (parents) call themselves "shameless fundraisers",that is all happens every month in the school.parents are bombarded with emails everyday about fundraising events every month.

My son studied there for 2 yrs and it was just horrible. No commitment to student studies, class work ...nothing.
over all a waste of time for children!!! Close Quote
