Open Quote This school is ran by a dictatorship of one, Principle Judy. Parents are spoken to and listened to like children by teachers. Children are expected to do mostly busy work with very low standards set. Our son had 3 teacher changes last year, during 1st grade and the last one could barely speak enough English to communicate. Open Quote I enrolled both my daughters in January 2010 at Horace Mann Elementary. We had just moved from New Jersey. Since Horace Mann only goes to grade 5 my daughter had to apply for acceptance into a middle school. Therefore, I need documents such as report cards for grades 3-5 and her state tests scores from New Jersey. I asked for this information and was informed that they didn't have her New Jersey school record. After calling the former school in New Jersey I was told that the principal had signed for my daughters school record from NJ. I then called back Horace Mann and they stated that apparently it was lost and they would try to find it and get back with me. That took TWO WEEKS and then they didn't even send everything that I needed. This school is very disorganized. I shouldn't have to ask but one time for something and I should get that same day or at least by the next day. I do not recommend sending your kids here if at all possible. Thanks! Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio
Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
