Open Quote My best friend was bullied here and i did not appreciate it and every time she goes to guidance they tell her its in her head and they don't treat issues like anxiety and bullying correctly. When she talks about being bullied to the school they tell her she's paranoid. U N A C C E P T A B L E. 5 star rated school? Learn how to control your students and create a safer more enjoyable atmosphere. You have a school of bullies and unless you teach students how to act nicer it's all Memorial is ever going to be. I also think there should be a day to bring in dogs. Fix this school. Thank you, Next. Close Quote

Open Quote I attended New Hyde Park Memorial High School from 2005-2009. Looking back I find the school wasn't well rounded. It has a strong business department, and English department. I remember lots of emphasis being put on writing, reading, and business classes. However, math teachers lacked practical skills. They couldn't motivate students because they didn't relate mathematics to the real world. They were excellent at teaching, being fair, and caring about students. They just didn't motivate students and show how practical math is.

I believe math is a very important subject. Students who excel in mathematics often pursue degrees in science and engineering. Students who enter engineering better off our country's manufacturing industries and introduce new innovative ways of doing things.

If NHP Memorial H.S. Ranks 22nd in NYS then it scares me. In college I've had the opportunity of meeting many kids who took advance calculus courses in college. Why can't NHP Memorial H.S. have more students take higher level math courses? I believe this issue needs to be addressed.

Overall, NHP is a great school. If you want to learn you will! I wish the math department would show students how math is very practical and applicable to real world problems. Maybe if all school did this America would innovate and manufacture more. Close Quote
