As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote School ok overall. Teachers were mostly average .
Admin brings in good programs.

Some students were placed in honors from elementary then put in Arista, making it a farse they couldn’t handle a lot of the harder work so acted out & were a distraction, loud & annoying in ppls face minding others business.

Looking at the proficiency of the school not lot of smart kids go here. There were several years back a few who had report cards that look good tho bc their past school must’ve bolstered their work to get a better grade so they looked like honors but they weren’t in any way, quit the opposite, proof of this is some could not handle math, common core, higher level regents & classes nor handle the SAT. There comes a time kids need to achieve & perform on own. It’s a leap for such types to be able to pass career subject test like teacher or speech therapist, or lawyer etc so don’t put them in honors it’s a false persona.

Do honors classes & Arista better &get the distractions who also struggle {math etc} to another class , it would be better for all. Typical of kids w attitude problems when behaviors called out get defensive & blame noticeably bullyish so don’t put such types in honors to begin with , the school will get more out of authentic honors kids & will reduce the incidences of gossip, drama in top classes bc the kids who didn’t belong their weren't put there to begin with or switch them out.

51 is on the up & up tho. Still Offers help after school & test prep. Give it a try. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
