As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Poorly run school, very dirty-looking, and smells like a public restroom all throughout. Everyday, when I go to pick up my daughter, she is never in the same location and I have to run around the whole building trying to find her. The teachers are great but they seem over-fatigued and stressed out. Its a new principal every 5 minutes...we're on our third this year. We will be leaving after this year. Lots of student fights, bullying is rampant, and a student attacked a dean during lunch. These are red flags. Close Quote

Open Quote Buffalo United Charter School, National Heritage Academies has exhausted there time in Buffalo NY. I am petitioning for this school to close. Based on talking to other parents and witnessing Bullying, harassment, abuse of power/authority and dishonesty from Tammy Messmer, Tara Sims and other Deans. National Heritage Academies should not profit in Buffalo NY if they are going to continue create an environment where discipline causes psychological issues (stress, anxiety, lack of motivation to attend school due to fear of being targeted, labeled, abused mentally, lack of safety, triggers behavior, lack of cultural connection, lack of cultural competency, discriminatory and racists remarks by administrative/ school staff, distrust, discriminatory/ racist policy's in your handbook & ineffective leadership. Buffalo United Charter School & National Heritage Academies parent relations and investigative procedures does not benefit the parents. Your investigative procedures lack consistency. Your higher administration refuses to interact with parents which shows us NHA do not care about our concerns. Our concerns fall on deaf ears. Parents are treated with disrespect, we are degraded, treated unprofessionally by Tammy, Tara and other deans. There no Parent Board, Parent Committee or Parent connection. Your administrative staff has discriminated against our culture, race and parental rights. Buffalo United Charter school has created an environment which labels our children behavioral. Our children are an endangered generation/culture. Your organization does not fall in line with the values of the African American community. Buffalo United Charter school creates an unsafe, discriminatory, unprofessional, behavioral environment where they are bullied and harassed by Tammy, Tara and school staff. Every residence in Buffalo will support our children no longer being a part of an for profit organization. This is unacceptable. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
