As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I have resided here for seven years, and based on my observations, it seems that the school principal maintains the "blue ribbon" status by transferring students in need of extra support to other schools. I have encountered numerous parents who have experienced this, and a significant portion of them appear to be from ethnic backgrounds. It's challenging to believe that a school in such an affluent area cannot allocate resources for paraprofessionals or bilingual teachers.

I personally witnessed a family being informed that their daughter wouldn't be accepted because she had been taught her native language first. This raises concerns about the acceptability of such practices. Furthermore, my son was a victim of post-school bullying, and the principal focused on asking about my son's whereabouts during the incident rather than addressing the aggressor. This lack of follow-up and concern for the well-being of the bullied child is troubling.

The nurse also appears inexperienced, as she downplayed a serious injury my son sustained, resulting in him being lethargic by the time I arrived. Another incident involving a parent's head injury after school was similarly mishandled, with the principal refusing to call an ambulance during dismissal. This lack of urgency and care reflects poorly on the school's administration.

In my opinion, this exceptional school and its dedicated teachers deserve a more compassionate leader. I strongly believe that the current principal should step down and allow someone with better empathy to lead the school. The principal's focus on maintaining the "blue ribbon" status at the expense of individual student well-being and the disregard for concerned parents' input is disheartening. A more inclusive and compassionate approach is necessary to ensure the well-being and success of all students. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
