As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Omaha Public Schools especially those in low-income areas, such as North Omaha. The schools continue to decline in every metric. They completely ignore IEPs. The schools are filled with bullies. Many teachers are afraid of students and ignore many situations. They do not feel supported by the district which is obvious. I had to switch school districts.to Bellevue schools for hm to receive the services required by the federal government for children with ADHD. They looked at his IEP and said it looked like something they had just threw it together quickly because they had to!!!! Several times I requested I updated IEP based on his Drs. recommendation. Their response was he just had one last YEAR!! Sending your children to the Omaha Public Schools is EDUCATIONAL NEGLECT Close Quote

Open Quote I have been a school bus driver since 2008. I have driven for every school in Omaha. Listen to me very carefully. Nathan Hale is the worst school I have ever driven for. Remember those movie genres in the 90's where there is a really bad school with violence and drugs and kids spray painting on the lockers and metal detectors at the door, and the protagonist comes to the school to turn it around? Well this is the school that those movies are based on except there is no one there to turn the school around. Just google Nathan Hale Omaha news and see what you find... Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
