As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote There have been many changes in the administration and staffing at WMS in the last few years. The changes have brought consistent expectations for academics and behavior. As a result, Whitewater Middle has implemented many new initiatives that are improving the school culture and inviting the community to become actively involved in the school. Close Quote

Open Quote I was willing to give this school a chance. I really was. My child started hearing rumors about the fights at this school when he was in elementary school. That was terribly worrisome and I chalked it up to just kid rumors.

Within several weeks of school starting, we quickly realized that not only do the 6th graders have no recess but they have no gym time or outside time of ANY kind. Lunch periods were taken away at least once a week via walking the kids back and forth over and over and over again. The rumors of discipline problems are true however the methods of the teachers seem to add to it instead of modeling better behavior. I do NOT send my child to school to get screamed at along with the rest of his class. I mean come on.... seriously?

There are NO textbooks. All classes seem to be based on how well your child can take notes. No wonder their school performance scores are so below par for the state AND the district!

Do yourself and your family a favor - do whatever you can to send your child somewhere else. I have a TD / gifted student. I will be pulling him out. This school is a MISTAKE and a disaster. What a shame! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
