About the Mississippi Assessment Program: MAP replaces the Partnership for the Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) test. MAP was specifically developed for Mississippi because the state ended its membership in the PARCC testing consortium and new tests were needed to measure student mastery of the Mississippi College and Career Ready Standards. Like PARCC, MAP tests are more demanding than previous state tests and set a higher bar for student achievement. MAP results are expected to be more in line with Mississippi’s results from PARCC and National Assessment of Educational Progress, which provide a more transparent picture of student achievement.

Open Quote A hidden gem in the MS Delta. I have had children there for the last 8 years & have nothing but praise. The kids receive an excellent academic education in a loving environment. Consistently ranked top in the state. Would highly recommend to any parent. Close Quote

Open Quote I have had my three children in the school for several years now. I can say that HCC is the BEST education in the delta. I am amazed at what they can get the kids to do. I think it all has to do with parent commitment and good leadership. Mrs. Hardy was a great principal and you could go to her about many things. She has been very concerned over the years. Although Mrs. LaMastas is new I know she will do a good job. She is one of the best teachers my kids ever had. I love the plays they do too. Close Quote

Open Quote I am a parent wanting my children to attend this school I have heard all good about the school. I have heard how wonderful the staff is and how they take out the time with each and all students. I would love it if my children get accepted. The only bad thing I have heard about the school is that it only goes to 8th grade. HAYES COOPER KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND HOPEFULLY I WILL BE VISITING SOON!!!!!! Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio
Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
