As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I am a former student at this school. From my experience from kindergarten to 5th grade as a gifted student who was well ahead of the rest of the class, I have not had a good experience. Kids bullied me all the time and the teachers didn't deal with this very well. The teachers didn't teach me very much as they had to stick me in a class with students who were way behind me. Not an ideal school for gifted kids. Close Quote

Open Quote I've been very involved as a Brimhall parent of two for seven years. The teaching staff is exceptional, generally, and the school is very well-organized with a strength in communication to parents and volunteer program.

The staff is great at catching students whose reading and math may need some extra support. Catching and serving reserved, gifted students or other unique learners who are falling outside the social circles--and setting expectations for parent behavior toward other parents and families--is an area of current exploration, and that would make Brimhall even stronger. This humility is part of what makes schools great, not good. Close Quote

Open Quote I have two boys who attend Brimhall. One went through the Jumpstart to Kindergarten Program last year and the other will start third grade this fall. I have been nothing but impressed throughout our years of experience as Brimhall parents. I work for another public school district and feel blessed every time I enter Brimhall that my kids get to be part of the Brimhall community. Thus far everyone of child's teachers have been exceptional. The communication between staff and parents is excellent and the parent volunteer force is large. It is a lovely neighborhood school with a committed and caring staff . Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
