Open Quote My step daughter has attended LLCS since 6th grade and she is now in 9th grade. She is a special ed student who has an IEP. She loves the school for the social aspect and the fact that there is NO REAL EDUCATION TAKING PLACE! It is really nothing more than daycare for her and many others. If it were up to her dad and I she would not be at this awful place. The school is housed in an old warehouse that isn't clean, is very loud and has way too many nooks and crannies that kids can (and do) hide out. They no longer have a gym program as they lost their gym teacher. They also lost both of their special ed teachers and now do not have a SpEd Director. The Dean of Students has also left and has not been replaced. The school is staffed with sub par teachers and people who do not hold a teaching license. How Pillsbury can back this school in good faith is astounding to me. I'm guessing that they do not set foot in the building, because if they did, they would pull their support in a minute, unless they only do it for the recognition and not because they care about the children in attendance. From what I have seen, most of the kids in attendance-especially the special ed kids, are kids that have been kicked out of public school for behavior reasons. The test scores for this school are well below state averages. If you are considering LLCS as an option for your child, RUN the other direction, please do not subject your child to this sorry excuse for a school. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
