As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote School is over crowded and under staffed. This stresses staff out and causes them to push for ADD drugs for children who do not need them. It is very infrequent that the homework reading worksheets do not have misspellings or slang in them (not a best practice when teaching children to read), low grades are often given for concepts that have not been taught, and district has wishy-washy & inconsistent curriculum that will nail your child to the wall when they go into 5th grade. Mr. Moore promised this was going to be resolved 5 years ago, when he was principal at Owen Intermediate now he is the Head of Curriculum, and nothing has changed. Do not expect clear communication, at any point, from anyone in this district, you will not get it... for last 3 years we have received classroom and teacher assignments on first day of school, because "they just didn't have time to get that information out before school started". We have received bus information, during the second week of school, rather than before the year began. Ann Arbor, Canton, Plymouth, Chelsea, and Dexter are your best bets, but you may need to relocate as several of these schools do not have School of Choice options.
On the upside... the school secretaries seem to be very nice and the high school is pretty nice, though I would only suggest it for advanced placement students as that seems to be the only really solid curriculum in the district. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
